Burnout Isn't Bad Luck — It's Your Elements Crying for Help
You wake up exhausted. Your coffee doesn't help. Your work feels meaningless. You fantasise about quitting everything and moving to a cabin in the woods. You've been told it's burnout—and you've been told to "take a break."

Earth burnout: Worry that won't stop. Digestive issues. You feel unsupported, even when you are. Earth burnout means your Spleen energy is weak. Remedy: Routine. Not more spontaneity—predictable meals, consistent sleep. Earth heals through nourishment and rhythm.
Metal burnout: Grief that won't process. Skin problems. You've become rigid and perfectionist. Metal burnout means your Lung energy is constricted. Remedy: Letting go. Declutter physical space. Cry if you need to. Metal releases through release—not control.
Water burnout: Fear-based paralysis. Adrenal fatigue. Creative block. You feel like you're drowning. Water burnout means your Kidney energy is depleted. Remedy: Rest. Deep, guilt-free, restorative rest. Not distraction—true quiet. Water refills in stillness.
Most burnout advice treats all five types the same. "Take a holiday." "Practice mindfulness." "Reduce your workload." These work for some types but can actually worsen others. An Earth burnout person who takes a "spontaneous adventure holiday" will feel more ungrounded. A Metal burnout person told to "go with the flow" will feel more anxious.
